An Additive Manufacturing company is looking for a Senior Applications Engineer to be at the frontline of Aerospace and Additive Manufacturing technologies. You will be responsible for applying your AM expertise and market leading software to enhance customer geometries for printability and performance including developing both support and compensation strategies.
Job description:
- The ability to research end users’ needs through communication along with sales, directly with clients, and internal stakeholders
- The ability to represent the company at trade shows and customer sites when required
- Improve part files to enhance printability, ease of post-processing, and or functionality
- Produce build layouts and files for a variety of laser powder bed fusion printing equipment
- The ability to Improve organisational competencies in AM process simulation, generative design and topology optimization
- The ability to execute software assessment and acquisitions
- Advance support structure and machining plans for product realisation while applying both additive and subtractive methods
- The ability to work with the CNC machining team to create estimates for both full CNC and AM/CNC hybrid projects
- The ability to support the quoting process and be liable for producing build time, machining time, and any other information required
- Enthusiastically contribute to team problem solving, process improvement, and decisions
- Manage internal efforts to enhance the company’s quoting, design, or manufacturing workflows
- The ability to mentor and teach engineering technical resources for the company including junior employees, interns, and technicians
Skills and qualifications:
- Prior Additive Manufacturing Experience
- A level of High degree of proficiency in 3D CAD modelling, AM build file preparation, generative design, topology optimization, and/or process simulation
- Prior experience within manufacturing /CNC machining processes
- A strong mechanical background
