Service Manager

Salary: €70k - €95k + bonus and company car

A world-recognised machine manufacturer is hiring a Service Manager to oversee personnel that support the execution of service, spare parts, and training business plans across the Netherlands.

They need someone who can ensure profitability of the service function, by performing cost control measures, monitoring turnover and margins frequently, and encouraging positive performance in the service team by motivating the service engineers.

Other duties:

  • Managing engineers’ interventions, such as maintenance, breakdowns, commissioning, and repairs with regard to planning, adjustments and possible escalations
  • Responsibility for day-to-day communication within the service team between single functional areas within the company and with the customers
  • Promoting the professional and personal development of the team, enabling opportunities to grow and providing training for the entire team
  • Administrative oversight of all processes incl. controlling of service engineers’ time recording and expense sheets
  • Maintaining very high customer orientation and satisfaction, giving absolute priority to solving technical customer problems

Profile

  • University degree qualified in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in a management or coordination role in industrial goods maintenance
  • Has a customer service focus with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain relationships
  • Is able to manage themselves effectively to ensure targets are met
  • Able to explain complex technical issues in a simple way
  • Fluent/native in Dutch, business level of verbal and written communication in English
  • IT skills (MS Office)
  • Willingness to travel (3 days in the office and 2 days travel per week).
