Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: East Coast, USA

This role is focused on cultivating relationships and inspiring action that drives business growth. The role involves both strategic selling and tactical execution, with a heavy emphasis on building long-term partnerships.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Customer & Account Development
    • Acquire new customers and expand business with existing accounts

    • Conduct in-person customer visits and attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events

    • Deliver engaging presentations to individuals and groups, both in-person and virtually

    • Manage and track sales activity via CRM (e.g., HubSpot)

    • Segment the market to identify and prioritize niche growth areas

    • Define buyer personas and proactively pursue high-potential prospects

    • Map out account structures, identifying key stakeholders and decision-makers

    • Cultivate champions within strategic accounts to drive growth

    • Identify adjacent markets and act swiftly to seize emerging opportunities

  • Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate customer data in CRM and ERP systems

    • Prepare and follow up on quotes, proposals, and other communications

    • Monitor customer satisfaction post-sale to ensure expectations are met

    • Re-engage inactive accounts and follow up on prior quotes and referrals

    • Submit expense reports in line with company policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, materials science, or a related field—or equivalent experience

  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Working knowledge of tools like MS Excel, Word, CRM software, and ERP systems

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (up to 50%)
