As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Ensuring program quality requirements are included in program design and process documents, and products are inspectable.
- Reviewing and approving manufacturing planning to ensure appropriate design engineering requirements implementation, material traceability maintenance, quality record maintenance, and sign-offs.
- Leading the effort to quantify and reduce risk using Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), while actively participating in improvement teams to reduce risk through mistake proofing and improvement.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring new or existing inspection methods to ensure products meet engineering requirements and performing First Article Inspection execution per AS9102 requirements.
- Communicating effectively between team members, customer counterparts, and suppliers to provide assurance that hardware is compliant to specifications, and actively participating in the Material Review Board to manage nonconforming hardware.
- Driving corrective and preventive action to ensure continual improvement by investigating and determining root causes of problems and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Participating in design reviews to identify inspectability and producibility issues early in the product life cycle.
- Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with customer expectations.
- Preparing comprehensive analyses, procedures, reports, and presentations for internal and external customers.

Job Requirements & Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This position will work directly with the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial Groups to ensure that new products in Essentium’s portfolio are reliable, repeatable, manufacturable, and exceed the expectations of our customers.
• Take ownership of all aspects of a new product Test and Validation project from the helping with the design criteria through to product release in the field and follow-up on field performance.
• Take ownership of all aspects of test procedure creation for Manufacturing. This includes test creation, implementation, data collection methodology and follow-up to ensure that all product delivered to the customer is thoroughly tested and meets specifications that are relevant for excellent part performance and customer satisfaction.
• Develop novel methods of characterizing and testing extrusion additive manufacturing machines and processes to implement in the qualification and testing of products for our customer base.
• Design and execute test plans to ensure that product meets design performance targets as well as manufacturing metrics such as uptime targets (MTBF, MTBA, etc.)
• Ability to use software tools for design, programming, data collection, and analysis. (LabVIEW, Altium Designer, C programming / Javascript, and Matlab (or Python))
• Expertise in DOE design and analysis tools (Jump, Minitab, etc.)
• Develop and deliver testing methods for manufacturing to ensure consistent, robust, high-performance printers.
• Familiarity with Six-Sigma principles. Certificate preferred.
• Provide feedback to Engineering regarding design performance as well as soft features like ease of use as they relate to the overall customer experience.
