Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 + benefits

We’re looking for an Applications Development Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology team, driving process improvements and developing innovative solutions in laser processing and related applications. This role bridges technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving, working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to deliver world-class results for customers.

The Role

In this position, you’ll take ownership of process development projects, complex test studies, and research using Design of Experiments (DOE) principles. You’ll assess the feasibility of new applications, create technical reports, and help develop accurate quotations and proposals. Your work will directly impact production efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading process development demonstrations and feasibility studies

  • Exploring and improving laser processes and identifying new applications

  • Writing technical, quality, and production procedures

  • Supporting equipment specification, acquisition, and improvement

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows, efficiency, and sales volume

  • Providing on-site technical support to customers as needed

  • Offering technical leadership and mentoring within production teams

  • Participating in system design reviews and acceptance testing (FAT/SAT)

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • An associate degree and at least 5 years of industrial experience (or equivalent)

  • Strong ability to read blueprints and specifications

  • Knowledge of laser processing methods, material science, CNC programming, and dimensional tolerancing

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and written communication skills

  • Willingness to travel up to 5%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (material science preferred) with 2+ years of industrial experience

  • Experience with DOE methodology

If you have a passion for innovation, a strong technical mindset, and a drive to deliver results, we’d love to hear from you.
