Candidates must have experience in Failure Analysis of Laser Diodes and provide solutions to relevant, complex technical problems, ideally within Commercial as well as Defense and Government-funded industries. Candidates must demonstrate expert analytical, problem-solving, laser diode multi-cell reliability modeling (FIT models, HAST, and HALT testing) and practical laboratory-based experience in multiple optoelectronic technologies, including FP, DFB, DBR, or VCSEL semiconductor laser diodes.

Objective: Oversee all aspects of the reliability data analysis, testing, modeling, and reporting of next-generation GaN Diode Lasers that leverage the advantages of BluGlass proprietary Remote Plasma CVD (RPCVD) deposition technology. This role will contribute reliability and FA concepts during new product development, qualification, and ongoing production.

Principal areas/functions:

75% Reliability Improvement and Failure Analysis:

▪ Establish burn-in, HAST, HALT, and muti-cell reliability protocols supporting product development, product qualification, and production screening.

▪ Oversee failure analysis (FA) process as needed to determine root cause using internal resources or external vendors. Provide feedback for device design evolution.

▪ Analyze the laser device performance throughout development and reliability testing. Apply device physics and laser design understanding to correlate any performance drifts to design inputs.

▪ Monitor GaN Laser Diode component level qualification stress tests to meet customer requirements and ensure high-quality operation in the field. Stress testing includes accelerated lifetime tests, environmental tests, mechanical tests, ESD, etc.

▪ Collaborate with and learn from device design engineers and technical program managers (PMs) on new products from the initial concept through release to manufacturing.

▪ Develop, execute, and improve BluGlass qualification plans, internal infrastructure as well as external contract manufacturers (CMs).

▪ Collaborate with test engineers and technicians to execute functional testing for each product. Tests include laser current-power-voltage, spectra/junction temperature measurements, near and far field measurements, etc.

▪ Provide updates on the qualification testing in the form of email updates, customer-facing presentations, internal NPI reviews, and documented qualification reports.

▪ Define key technical objectives and manage projects through the various development phases (feasibility, alpha [design and development], beta [reliability and qualification]) and into production to meet program milestones and product reliability requirements.

▪ Collaborate with BLG internal epitaxial design & growth team to determine optimal epitaxial wafer design and growth parameters (specifically the calculation, tracking, and improvement of laser gain and loss characteristics).

▪ Collaborate with testing and reliability groups and participate in the design and setup of new test systems needed to measure laser diode performance

25% Technical Program Interaction:

▪ Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art principles for advancing the performance of laser diodes.

Background/Skills:

• Masters’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science with 8+ years of experience or a Ph.D. +3 years of experience in Laser/Laser Diode environment

• Experience in Gallium Nitride materials systems (design/modeling, epitaxy, fabrication, or testing) is highly desirable.

• Development and execution of a Failure Analysis strategy

• Demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to direct and influence the organization across multiple functional departments is essential. Strong team player.

Job Title: Nut-Runner & Servo Press business/ General Manager

DESCRIPTION:

The General Manager oversees the Nut-Runner & Servo Press distribution business in North America, be located at our head office in Elk Grove Village, IL. Manage the team members, located in Michigan State, including sales, engineering, service support and repair for the product, and expand the business by enhancing sales activities and by strengthening the engineering function to sell more own integrated system of nut-runner and servo press. On a day-to-day basis, he/she will communicate, be consulted and discuss with the team members, and will consult and discuss with both our upper management and the manufacturer in Japan in order to well organize the business. In collaboration with our Sales & Marketing Group, he/she will expand the customer base by sales activities in the Automotive, Construction equipment, Agricultural equipment industries, but not limited to the described industries, including Japanese account.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assume responsibility and evaluate, diagnose and provide timely, appropriate response and resolutions to the prospective users and the manufacturer.

· Travel between Head Office in Illinois and facility located in Michigan to promote and build a strong team environment among all employees located at our Michigan facility.

· Team up with the members including sales and engineers of the product located in Michigan State, and the Sales & Marketing Group located at our head office in Illinois State.

· Exercise Independent judgement and discretion to prepare solutions related to the product for users’ best satisfactory.

· Contact and visit prospective users in order to get new customer base as much as possible.

· Strengthening the capability of the system integration of nut-runner and servo press.

· Report and consult with our upper management for appropriate management of the business.

· Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Ability to effectively document and communicate ideas, strategies, problems, and solutions in both verbal and written forms to co-workers, customers and the manufacturer.

· Willingness to travel up to 50% of time or as job requires, locally and Internationally.

· Bilingual of English and Japanese for speaking, reading and writing.

· Possession of a valid Driver’s License and Passport Photograph

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent

· Several years or more working experience in a manufacturing industries, especially system integration business preferred (more years are better)

· Comfortable working with MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

· General electric and mechanical knowledge, preferred

· Basic Mathematical knowledge and trigonometry, a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job operates mainly indoors, but exposed to changing weather conditions, such as extreme hot or cold, rain, sun, wind, etc. This job also works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level is moderate to loud. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license and Passport is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job requires repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent stand-up & down, walking and sitting during both working in the office and traveling.

Service Engineer Laser Specialist Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  Support customer and internal staff for technical troubleshooting and machine repairs with the main focus on the Laser Products

 Visit customers to install machines give customer maintenance training.  Visit customers with down laser machines to make machine repairs as well as recalibrte the machine to factory

geometric tolerance and return machine to customer in good operation condition for customer to make test cut operation of machine and approve machine repairs.

 Record and log activates with the digital service report with customers digital signature of service approval. Digital service report will be recorded in the CRM system

 Perform other duties as assigned (not limited to working on lasers only there will be work to perform on machining centers as well)

Requirements:  Demonstrate high level of customer care while maintaining a friendly and professional approach.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Adobe.  Maintain a work schedule from 8:30a.m - 5:30p.m or as assigned during the hiring process; Monday through Friday.

Punctuality is a must.  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  Strong work ethic.  Ability to remain consistent with these Job Functions and Minimum Requirements listed above.

Education and/or Experience:

 Minimum 5 year of service and/or technical phone support experience.  Must have a Associates or 4 year degree, or equivalent work experience  Ability to work independently as well as on a team.

Work Environment Spend time traveling to customer’s facilities and physically working in the customer’s facilities primarily.

Physical Demands: 8 hour work schedule with overtime as needed. Utilizing a computer, and phone hand tools both mechanical and electrical, will be required to lift and mount machine repair parts as well as work at times from an elevated position.
