Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Ohio
Salary: $125k - $150k
A Senior-Level Mechanical Design Engineer is sought to join a growing team, tasked with the design, build, and validation of industrial equipment, including robotic automation cells and industrial machine tools.
The organization specializes in Precision Machining, Custom Robotic Automation, and Tube Forming Technologies. The Automation Division is responsible for the design, build, and validation of industrial equipment, including robotic automation cells and machine tools.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual designs for projects based on customer and internal requirements in SolidWorks.
- Create final designs from input gathered during design reviews.
- Collaborate across departments to gather requirements and formulate solutions.
- Lead a cross-functional team to generate Machine Safety Risk Assessments for projects.
- Coordinate with Controls Engineers to develop a Sequence of Events and Timing Chart.
- Conduct and lead design reviews with internal teams and customers.
- Generate necessary project documentation (prints, bills of materials, etc.) and release to manufacturing/purchasing.
- Support project construction through manufacturing, assembly, and runoff stages.
- Prepare and finalize documentation for submission to the customer.
- Provide technical support across departments.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement automation recommendations to enhance existing processes.
- Contribute to the operations roadmap to align with organizational goals.
- Participate in regular meetings with support staff and team members to address issues, action items, and training needs.
- Engage in collaborative efforts across the machine-building process.
- Conduct FMEA’s and Safety Risk Assessments.
- Interact with customers to address technical needs.
- Provide technical support for sales and customers.
- Attend weekly project status meetings to coordinate with the project team.
- Adhere to schedules and budgets to complete engineering tasks within allocated hours for each project.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience designing industrial machine tools and/or automation, including robotic work cells.
- Proficient in SolidWorks 3D parametric solids modeling, utilizing top-down assemblies and SolidWorks PDM Professional.
- Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Tool and die or machining experience and/or knowledge.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams.
