Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Massachusetts

Salary: $130k - $150k

A rapidly growing venture-backed company, specializing in next-generation additive manufacturing technology, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quality Engineer. This position focuses on ensuring manufacturing operations adhere to stringent quality standards, thus contributing to the production of reliable and high-performance products. The role involves the oversight of quality control processes on the production floor, implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC), and the development and maintenance of comprehensive quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Floor Quality Control:

  • Oversee and ensure quality control measures on the production floor align with established specifications.
  • Develop and enforce inspection standards at each stage of manufacturing to proactively identify potential quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address identified quality issues or defects.

Statistical Process Control (SPC):

  • Implement SPC methods to effectively monitor, control, and enhance production processes.
  • Utilize statistical data to identify process variations, initiate continuous improvements, and maintain process consistency.
  • Provide training on SPC principles and data interpretation to operators and relevant staff.

Quality Inspection and Testing:

  • Design and establish inspection processes, methods, and criteria for finished goods and raw materials.
  • Lead in-process inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain thorough inspection records, analyzing data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential areas for improvement.

Procedure Generation and Documentation:

  • Develop, document, and implement quality assurance procedures, work instructions, and protocols.
  • Ensure that documentation is current, easily accessible, and compliant with regulatory and internal company standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align quality procedures with broader manufacturing and business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge and application of SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar quality control methodologies.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
