Job Title: Financial Accounting Manager

Location: North Carolina, USA

Salary: $130k

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP/IFRS.

  • Reconciliation of financial statements from local GAAP to IFRS.

  • Oversees the audit process for annual financial statements in collaboration with external auditors.

  • Assists with tax-related matters, both domestic and foreign, including VAT, corporate income tax, and transfer pricing, in cooperation with external tax advisors and the global tax department.

  • Manages Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Concur, Financial, and Management Accounting.

  • Drives improvements in global financial accounting policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company capital assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Leads, trains, and develops a team of accounting professionals to ensure accurate and timely financial accounting, ownership of monthly close activities, and quarterly and year-end closing processes.

  • Manages fixed asset accounting and reporting in collaboration with the controlling and engineering teams.

  • Reviews intercompany postings for accuracy and completeness for month-end submissions.

  • Ensures proper training, resources, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for critical tasks are kept updated and thoroughly documented in a centralized location.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in working capital, cost control and cost avoidance initiatives, and operational efficiency.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Authority:
  • Serves as a key business partner within the organization, providing leadership support to the strategic leadership team.

  • Responsible for driving performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), developing a high-performance team, and overseeing all aspects of financial and general accounting in compliance with GAAP and IFRS regulations.

  • Leads month-end close processes, fixed assets accounting, sales and use tax reporting, and tax risk mitigation in partnership with auditors.

  • Drives continuous improvements in business excellence, accounting, digitization, and initiatives that strengthen internal controls while enhancing efficiency.

  • Works closely with senior management at both local and global levels to support business decisions and uphold the highest level of accounting integrity.

  • Encourages collaboration inside and outside the accounting function in a fast-paced environment while fostering inclusiveness, flexibility, and transparency.

  • Challenges legacy processes to enhance efficiency and performance.

  • Manages multiple high-priority tasks effectively.

Job Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of recent leadership experience in general accounting within the manufacturing industry.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience with SAP R3 or S4/HANA.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

  • Master's degree in accounting or finance preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying it.

  • Experience with IFRS 9, 15, and 16 required.

  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting/auditing and financial statement preparation.

  • Experience in implementing or upgrading financial systems and processes (ERP, ACH, Taxation) is a plus.

  • Ability to analyze complex or conflicting perspectives, identify issues, and propose solutions.

  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.

  • Experience with data retrieval applications such as Hyperion, Tagetik, AFO, Fluence, BW, and BI is a plus (training available).

Physical Requirements:
  • Normal office environment with the ability to sit, stand, walk, and operate office equipment.

  • Ability to work overtime when necessary based on project demands.

  • Possibility of up to 10% travel.
