Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: New York, USA
Salary: $90k- $110k

The Service Engineer is responsible for providing customers with maintenance and repair assistance for CNC machine tools, either on-site or remotely by telephone. This role involves frequent travel, customer interaction, and technical expertise in troubleshooting and installation.

  • Provide customers with maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools on location or by telephone.

  • Create and update technical documentation.

  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc service reports.

  • Collaborate with customer service engineers and demonstrate a willingness to support team efforts.

  • Provide assistance and training to customer service engineers on the installation and maintenance of newer product lines.

  • Establish and build strong communication and customer service relationships with clients.

  • Manage challenging customer situations in a professional manner, respond promptly to customer needs, and gather feedback to improve service delivery.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools.

  • Experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens controls is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service focus.

  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate in person and by phone with people at all organizational levels.

  • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.

  • Basic computer literacy with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Adaptability to changes in work environment, ability to manage competing demands, and capability to handle frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

  • Willingness to travel at least 50% across a multi-state region by driving or flying, as required.

  • Expected to work at the Technical Center when not visiting customers.
