Job Title: Automation Technician 
Location: North Carolina
Salary: $72k

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and analyze failures or errors in automation equipment and identify the root cause.
  • Maintain and repair automation systems based on root cause analysis.
  • Replace or rebuild defective or broken manufacturing/automation parts efficiently.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance of automation systems according to established procedures.
  • Carry out and document all repairs and adjustments on automation systems.
  • Requisition necessary spare parts as needed.
  • Complete all maintenance reports, documentation, and checklists in accordance with procedures.
  • Support the installation of new equipment.
  • Provide support and backup for facility maintenance.
  • Train operators on the standard operation of automation systems.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly appearance of automation systems, the workshop, and the production floor.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Authority and Competencies:

  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, such as lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Ensure that automation systems meet output and efficiency goals.
  • Make repair decisions based on root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance with production planning.
  • Provide proactive input for preventive maintenance plans and identify potential error causes in automation systems.
  • Work by safety regulations and guidelines.

Job Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Technical education in mechanical or electrical fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent.
  • Sufficient communication and writing skills.
  • Desired computer knowledge, including proficiency with MS Office 2003 or later.
