Job Title: Additive Manufacturing Technician
Location: Texas, USA
Salary: £100k

A company that specializes in clean and affordable energy production, is hiring an Additive Manufacturing Technician to be involved in their metal 3D printing operations. 

The daily tasks for this role will revolve around setting up print jobs, handling metal powders, part post processing, part testing, and performing routine maintenance on the equipment. This role will be a crucial part of setting up and maintaining our print operations at the new facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work hand in hand with the engineering and management teams to fabricate metal powder bed fusion parts to be used in production.
  • Perform downstream processes after print including powder evacuation, support removal, pressure vessel leak testing and prepping jobs for outsource vendor operations.
  • Contribute towards advancing print process improvements and innovation.
  • Support cross functionally as needed with shaft, engine, battery, and genset assembly operations.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, needed, or required for the business.

Qualifications include:

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience working in a hands-on environment.
  • Additive manufacturing experience (3 years LPBF preferred- GE concept laser, EOS, SLM).
  • CNC machine and/or EDM experience
  • Knowledge of lean six sigma and 5S methodologies with a strong focus on safety and process improvement.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong mechanical intuition.
  • Experience operating additive manufacturing machines.
  • Experience operating equipment that requires calibration or a highly detailed set up.
  • Experience and expertise in battery assembly, custom fabrication, wiring, and/or welding preferred.
  • Willingness to cross-train and learn new skills is a must.
