Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Salary: $90k

We're looking for a skilled Service Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair CNC machine tools both at customer sites and in our facility. You’ll be hands-on, tackling technical challenges efficiently and with high quality. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll also contribute ideas for improving our processes and ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot CNC machine tool issues.

  • Perform installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance—delivering quality, timely service every time.

  • Train customers and team members on proper installation, maintenance, and service techniques.

  • Use service software to document work, report findings, and track parts—reporting should be completed the same day, or within 24 hours at the latest.

  • Keep customers informed: notify them of your arrival, provide updates during the job, and ensure everything is clear before you leave.

  • Collaborate with teammates, internal departments, and outside vendors to solve technical problems.

  • Actively look for ways to improve our service, tools, and processes—your ideas are welcome.

  • Continue developing your skills through training, reading, and hands-on learning.

  • Take care of company tools, vehicles, and property—cleanliness and upkeep matter.

  • Be flexible—help out with related tasks or in other departments when needed.

What You Need

  • Associate’s degree or certification in CNC machine tool troubleshooting, installation, and repair.

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with machine tools.

  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to drive for business (including use of your own vehicle until a company vehicle is assigned).

  • Strong communication skills—comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, and peers.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and reliable.

  • A team player who can collaborate across departments.

  • Competency with PCs and job-related software for programming and documentation.

  • Physically capable of frequent bending, standing, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs independently, heavier with assistance).

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on customer needs.

  • Able to travel for training, out-of-state or international service calls, and cross-division support. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

  • Ability to secure a major personal credit card (Visa, AmEx, or MasterCard) for business-related expenses and travel.
