Job Title: Senior Grinding Applications Engineer – CNC Grinding Industry
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Grinding Applications Engineer to join a team that specializes in precision engineering and advanced CNC grinding solutions. This role focuses on the design and development of CNC grinding processes, supporting industries such as aerospace, defense, and heavy machinery.
This is a remote position for candidates not local to the headquarters or those who do not wish to relocate.
Key Responsibilities

Sales Support: Develop turnkey project cost estimates and time studies; provide technical expertise to Sales and support customer visits as needed.

Turnkey Projects: Create process plans and documentation, specify grinding wheels and arbors, advise on part fixturing, and lead process development through to final run-off at either company or customer facilities.

Collaboration: Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Applications Engineering teams to ensure process requirements are met. Maintain effective communication with vendors and customers.

Continuous Improvement: Research and implement the latest grinding technologies to enhance processes and performance.

Travel: Visit customer and vendor facilities as required.
Skills & Experience

In-depth knowledge of grinding technologies, equipment, and processes.

Proficiency with SolidWorks (3D CAD) and AutoCAD (2D).

Strong technical knowledge, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Solid understanding of engineering concepts, machine systems, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Background in machine tool applications and processes.
Education & Qualifications

10+ years of practical experience in the grinding industry.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Compensation
Up to $125,000 annually, commensurate with skills and experience.
