Production Manager – Plastics Additive

Our site in High Wycombe, UK, has an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager
to oversee the in-house manufacturing of plastic 3D printed products, for a wide
range of industries, ranging from film and tv, automotive, medical and motorsport.
The Production Manager is responsible for the technical management, supervision
and control of the 3D printing processes, managing the teams, monitoring projects
through manufacture to the delivery of the finished components. The role
encompasses both office and workshop environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reporting to Operations Manager / Site Lead,
• Overseeing the Plastics Additive Manufacturing production processes,
• Managing and developing a small existing production team to reach quality
and delivery targets of customer orders,
• Supporting the existing team with your engineering knowledge and guidance,
• Create, execute and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production schedules,
• Assisting with maintenance and problem solving of equipment,
• Implementing and monitoring maintenance schedules,
• Hands-on assistance with manufacturing activities during periods of high
demand, including manual work and 3D printing support structure design,
• Manage stock levels within the department,
• Assisting sales team with new enquiries,
• Implementing the company’s safety, health, environment and quality
requirements,
• Striving to reduce costs and increase productivity,
• Identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the
operations and make recommendations for improvement.
PROFILE
Essential:
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience,
• 5 years minimum working in a technical role in manufacturing industry,
• Experience of 3D CAD software,
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances,
• Excellent and timely decision-making skills,
• Demonstrate good people management techniques in motivation,
development and communication
• Organised and independent problem solver,
• Enjoys team working.
Desirable:
• Related work experience in an industrial 3D printing workshop environment,
• Experience of Stereolithography (SLA) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS),
• In depth knowledge of Magics file preparation software,
• Experience of metrology and materials testing.
