Job Description

A value-added distributor that provides efficient and thorough inspection services for a wide-range of parts and materials, is hiring a CMM programmer. This person will be responsible for ensuring the quality of contract inspection and calibration processes through assessment, and analyses using specific procedural standards for integrity. They will aim to protect the company's interests while maintaining a positive customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Math, Mechanical Engineering, or Physical Sciences preferred.
  • Experience with CAD (e.g., Solid Works, Pro-E, Polyworks); CMM experience preferred; Vision Systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints for dimensional inspection. Experience and understanding of Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for building test rigs and solving complex inspection requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software use. Good programming skills.
  • Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline, and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.


Essential Functions:

  • Performs dimensional measuring and calibration to determine conformance with specifications per ISO 17025 and other standards.
  • Utilizes standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, and test rigs.
  • Processes associated documentation, including process tags, rework tags, and nonconforming material documents.
  • Works under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques.
  • Timely and continued customer follow-up.
  • CMM and Vision System programming.
  • Document control to record data.
  • Performs instrument calibration and maintenance.
  • Assists with unexpected/urgent situations as needed.
  • Implements a strategy to ensure assigned tasks are completed within required timeframes.
  • Participates in training to keep current with professional standards associated with work duties.
  • Upholds company policies and follows guidelines/procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
