Position: Outside Sales Representative
Location: Southern Louisiana

Description:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting, identifying, and establishing relationships with new customers, developing proposals, and closing sales for new and repeat business. This role involves nurturing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with existing customers, with the goal of increasing sales within an assigned geographical territory in Southern East and West Louisiana, specializing in the sugar industry.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Promote and market a range of product lines to all customers and prospective customers within the assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Visit customers' sites to understand their processes and needs, and suggest how product lines can improve their processes and operations, offering greater reliability, efficiency, and value compared to competitors.
  • Manage territory and accounts to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Attain technical proficiency with all product lines.
  • Target growth in the sugar industry for 13 mills in Southern Louisiana.

Qualifications and Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Previous experience selling valves and controls.
  • Sales experience in the sugar mill industry.
  • Local travel including but not limited to Lafayette, Morgan City, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
  • Outside industrial sales experience of industrial valves, actuators, controls, and instrumentation, with experience calling on sugar refineries.
  • Knowledge of the fluid handling equipment industry (e.g., valves, controls, piping).
  • BS College degree (in Engineering, Business, or a related major), or a high school diploma plus relevant experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
