Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Wisconsin
Salary: $70k - $80k
The Production Supervisor operates within a Value Stream, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day quality, productivity, and safety of the assigned area. This role involves supervisory leadership across all processes within the Value Stream, including team building, labor planning, interviewing and hiring, training, and auditing team performance. The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Value Stream Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensure staffing levels align with the production schedule and adjust as needed to meet demand.
- Regularly audit staff performance to ensure adherence to standard work plans.
- Follow the production floor build schedule as provided by the Value Stream Planner and coordinate changeovers with the Shift Lead, ensuring the availability of correct tools and materials.
- Serve as a mentor and expert in Plex for all areas of production within the assigned responsibility.
- Develop training matrices in collaboration with the production trainer and audit for compliance across all shifts.
- Coordinate document control releases, including RN’s, work instructions, setup sheets, scrap logs, SPC, etc., in collaboration with Document Control.
- Track work center efficiencies and initiate corrective actions in response to shift lead reports.
- Participate in Corrective Action Request (CAR) teams, focusing on assembly methods and system requirements, playing a key role in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions on the shop floor.
- Conduct operator reviews, attendance counseling, and progressive discipline.
- Implement action items from focus team meetings to meet or exceed Quality Operating System (QOS) goals in areas such as scrap, productivity, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety, delivery performance, and quality.
- Resolve manufacturing and maintenance issues to minimize operational delays.
- Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the Value Stream.
- Positively interface with customers as needed.
- Provide effective, daily communication on the production floor to all team members and across all shifts to achieve established safety, quality, and throughput goals.
- Ensure compliance with Fleet Safety Program requirements for those directed to operate vehicles for work purposes.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, performance appraisals, and addressing complaints and problems.
- Support and promote continuous improvement goals and adhere to Quality Management and Environmental Management Systems policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education and Certifications:
- Required: Associate’s Degree with 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
Skills:
- Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
