Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
As the General Manager of ADDMAN’s Products business you’ll be at the forefront of a
dynamic growth oriented manufacturing company. In this role, you will be responsible of
ADDMAN’s Products business which includes fiber optic equipment, solenoid coils, additive
software solutions, and help bring other products to market; you will have full P&L
responsibilities over these products. You will be directly leading the Fiber Optics team
including commercial, operational, and engineering responsibilities and collaborate with
cross functional groups to manage other products core to ADDMAN. About 75% of your
time is expected to be focused on the fiber optic equipment business but the weekly time
allocations is expected to vary based on business requirements. This is a key ADDAMAN
leadership role which will require frequent interaction with manufacturing facility leaders,
commercial leaders, and overall company leadership up through the board of directors.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires
U.S. citizen status.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Strategic Leadership:
o Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve
financial objectives.
o Provide visionary leadership to align the company's goals with industry
trends and customer needs.
• P&L Management:
o Oversee all financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, cost
management, and profitability.
o Take ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities to ensure
financial targets are met or exceeded.
o Collaborate with finance team to conduct monthly and quarterly analysis on
margins to identify and execute on improvement opportunities.
o Communicate weekly, monthly, and quarterly results and status of strategic
objectives at various levels of the organization
• Commercial Development:
o Drive sales growth and market expansion strategies to increase market share
and revenue.
o Foster strong relationships with key clients, negotiate contracts, and identify
new business opportunities.
o Develop and maintain effective relationships with distributors, managing
channel partnerships, and ensuring optimal performance within the
distribution network.
o Implement strategies to enhance distribution channel efficiency, monitor
channel sales, and drive collaborative efforts to maximize market penetration
and product availability.
• Engineering Management:
o Provide guidance and direction to the product development team,
overseeing product development, innovation, and quality assurance.
o Ensure adherence to industry standards and technological advancements in
fiber optics manufacturing.
• Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
o Coordinate with Operations team to provide accurate lead times in-line with
product demand; ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of products
and services.
o Streamline processes and optimize operational performance across
manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics.
o Lead team in identifying and deploying annual CI projects targeted to
improving product quality, reliability, and cost.
• Team Leadership and Development:
o Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of
collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
o Recruit, train, and retain top talent while promoting professional growth
within the organization.
o Effectively communicate company goals, strategies, and performance to
stakeholders, employees, and the board of directors.
Requirements
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to formulate and execute strategic plans aligned with business objectives to
navigate industry trends
• Strong understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and P&L management
including experience working with data to drive informed decisions
• Capability to drive profitability and manage costs effectively
• Proven track record in driving sales growth, expanding market share, and expanding
products into new markets through a direct and in-direct sales channel
• Proficiency in managing and optimizing distribution channels for market penetration
and product availability.
• Technical understanding of fiber optics or related engineering fields
• Experience in guiding engineering teams, ensuring product quality and innovation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey strategies and
performance to stakeholders
• Collaborative approach in engaging with cross-functional teams and external
partners
• Embrace innovation and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the
organization.
• A hands-on leader with unquestioned integrity and ethics, with a desire to work in a
growing, dynamic, mission-driven, and values-based organization
• Computer aptitude (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field, plus 10 years related
experience in a technical environment
• At least eight years in a senior management, commercial or operations leadership
capacity in a global environment
• Must have experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and / or
six sigma practices
• Strong business acumen and strategic thought leadership, with the demonstrated
ability to translate business needs into effective strategies and actions to execute
against those strategies
• Experience working independently in a highly decentralized, process oriented, and
hands-on organization with the ability to resourcefully innovate and adapt in a
rapidly changing, fast paced, and highly complex environment
• Drive for results, demonstrated success serving business clients and experience in
developing and implementing change initiatives
• Advanced degree or MBA preferred
