CAD/CAM Technical Support Engineer - Software Support Team

 

Preferred locations are Chicago, IL, or Davis, CA, within core business hours.

Travel: Up to 25% travel required.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of DMG MORI technologies and product offerings to devise effective strategies for supporting software solutions.
  • Analyze customer business requirements and translate them into technically sound solutions using DMG MORI software products.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Centers to assist local sales representatives in presenting software products and addressing technical inquiries.
  • Deliver product training to both internal sales and service associates and external customers.
  • Provide guidance on the development of content for marketing materials, sales manuals, and product documentation.
  • Foster and maintain strong customer relationships to facilitate subscription or contract updates, communicate new releases, and gather valuable feedback.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the company.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Highly preferred: Previous experience in technical sales and support within the software and/or machine tool industry.
  • Highly preferred: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., NX, MasterCAM, Esprit, etc.).
  • Highly preferred: Experience in CNC machining and programming.
  • Fundamental understanding of software infrastructure and Information Technology.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging and informative training sessions and presentations.
  • Outstanding writing and editing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, with a passion for researching and adopting new technologies.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
