Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development

  Introduce design improvements that enhance machine performance, focusing on thermal stability, vibration control, and tool life, while meeting budget and schedule targets.

• CAD & Simulation
  Use SolidWorks to model designs, create assemblies, drawings, and BOMs. Conduct and review simulations to validate the performance and durability of machine components.

• Prototyping & Testing
  Oversee the assembly and testing of prototypes, making iterative design adjustments based on test results to achieve optimal performance.

• Collaboration
  Partner with Electrical and Applications Engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems with controls for full CNC functionality. Maintain professional communication with vendors and customers.

• Mentorship & Oversight
  Guide and support junior engineers, reviewing their work for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to engineering standards.

• Technical Support
  Provide expertise during assembly, commissioning, and customer field service. Support troubleshooting efforts for service and repair.

• Continuous Improvement
  Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the quality and productivity of CNC grinding equipment and engineering processes.

• Travel
  Visit customer and vendor sites as required for technical support or validation.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, and BOM creation (AutoCAD 2D familiarity is a plus).
