Director of finance

A manufacturing business specializing in the design and manufacturing of powder metal components is currently looking for a Financial Controller. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems, guiding financial decisions through continuous monitoring and enforcement.
  • Preparation of budgets, including establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and making recommendations.
  • Achieving budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Providing a status update on the financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, including filing financial reports and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Collaborating with commercial and engineering teams to calculate and present business cases to the Owner/Board of Directors.
  • Creating financial models to assist in corporate decision-making.
  • Coordinating and overseeing audits by external financial agencies, with direct interaction with the Owner and Board of Directors.
  • Managing the Accounting team, which includes an Accounting Manager, Purchasing Analyst, and Network Administrator.
  • Preparing financial statements and presenting them to the Owner, Board of Directors, and Senior Management.
  • Working closely with finance and plant operations to provide advice on the financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions, and decisions.
  • Providing leadership to ensure proper cost accounting processes, including cost management, physical inventory verification, and inventory review in the plant.
  • Managing day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close activities, internal and external reporting, and annual audits.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience.
